We love to scan in 3D and so if you need something scanned we want to help. We can scan almost anything for a range of applications and outputs. Applications include animation, archiving, medical research, rapid prototyping, industrial design reverse engineering and much more. Each project has different requirements and we are flexible in our approach and can cater for your specific needs.
What is 3D Scanning?
3D scanning is a method of digitalising physical objects to create 3-dimensional computational geometry (CAD). There are various scanning technologies used to achieve this, the main two being white light and laser.
What are its applications?
Industries such as game creation, reverse engineering, heritage, the arts, industrial design, architectural survey and film are all benefiting from the advantages of 3D scanning.
Are there any limitations?
3D scanners can capture almost anything you put in front of them large or small; however there are some limitations including, occluded areas, very shiny and very dark objects. There are normally workarounds for these types of subjects, please feel free to contact us if you would like further details.
How long does scanning take?
We specialise in some of the fastest 3D scanners on the market. Each object is different and requires different amounts of post-processing work however typically models are created in hours or days, rather than weeks.
