Whether intended for concept evaluation, functional testing, casting applications or full colour models giving a finished look, a 3D print can be produced quickly and inexpensively.

We operate a 3D Systems Projet HD 3000 which produces high quality plastic models with an exceptional surface finish. This 3D printer delivers key advantages compared to other 3D modeling technologies - colour 3D prints, extremely affordable costs, fast turn around times, good level of details, and different post processing available to give a range of material properties.

Guidelines for Models

Remember to make the most of the 3D printer’s capabilities – sub-millimetre detail, accurate surface finish; even moving parts are possible. Just remember to make sure your design will work in the real world, for example:

Will the model be able to support its own weight?

Make sure all parts of the model connect - otherwise your print will fall apart!

Think about the strength of small cross sections

Allow a small tolerance if you are designing moving or tight fitting parts

Try and avoid holes and intersections in the mesh

Remember, very small details cannot be guaranteed to reproduce correctly

Max volume of single 3d print 298 x 185 x 203mm

Hollow out large volumes to save material and therefore money...

Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any failing due to the structural design of your model. After reading through the information below please e-mail or call us for a quote:

We require your 3D models in STL format. To provide an accurate quote it is necessary to assess the 3D model file intended for use, and when costing a print, the following criteria are taken into account:

  • Volume - The amount of material that will be used to create the print
  • Dimensions - Height defines the length of the build and therefore running costs
  • STL Preparation - Converting file formats, basic scaling and orientation
  • STL Fix - Correction of bad files that would otherwise not print

Example Costs:
Model:
Stats: 220mm x 185mm x 74mm 36mm x 72mm x 24mm
Total Cost: £452.04 £212.04
with STL Prep: £502.04 £262.04
with STL Prep and Fix: £597.04 £357.04
