Free Beer! And fast scanning.

When ThingLab Australia first heard about Boags piping beer from Tasmania to Melbourne via the Great Tasmanian Beer Pipeline, we thought.... great! When we discovered that the whole idea was a in fact a promotion, ThingLab was equally excited to be involved in scanning a sculpture of the Boags logo for Mother’s Art. We scanned the sculpture using our Mephisto Extreme 3D scanning system and turned the job around in less than a week. The data was fed into a CNC machine which then milled the full scale 3D logo from craftwood. The final pipe was constructed from wood, but looked for all the world like a solid steel monster. Bring on the beer!
